Storm-Washed Chapin Forest Landscapes

Landscape images made in Chapin Forest Reservation just after a thunderstorm

This is Chapin Forest Reservation after a thunderstorm cleaned everything. Rainy landscapes give everything a more vivid feeling — or sometimes things fade into the mist. Rain drops are still dripping from foliage and seeping into bark. It brought out the best in woodland scents: evergreen, rain, the mineral smell of wet sandstone, and maybe distant flowers.

Chapin Forest Reservation

The Chapin Forest is small, but densely beautiful. It is thickly wooded and has some fantastic ledges and other sandstone formations.

I have just begun to find its landscape views. Macro scenes are always plentiful with this kind of verdant life too. I know I’ll be back.

I keep adding more image posts like this one, usually united by a theme.

New galleries are coming up too. These are larger collections of images.

More photography featuring the urban and natural environment on social media. You can follow me on Instagram or Twitter for more, but I think the photography experience is better on Flickr.
